Solarte Hike and Hospital Point Snorkel Tour

Hike across de Island about 1 mile and a half. The trail is well enough marked until certain area. This is not a common use trail but is a very fun one. We can appreciate a great biodiversity of plants and animals that capture the attention of the visitors. During the rainy season could be difficult, even is good to use hiking sticks but in the dry season we strongly recommend hiking shoes anyways. The tour across Solarte Island can show you in half day the meaning of Bocas. A place full of jungle but surrounded by Ocean and in some areas you can find the most beautiful beaches of the Caribbean. In this case our final destination is called Hospital Point because in that area we used to have a Hospital which was isolated on purpose because some contagious desease that was attacking the archipelago zone. We can even find an abandoned cementery that was the witness of this situation at the end of the IXX century. 

Finally we arrive to Hospital Point and is time to jump in the water. We can see in front of us another island which is one of the biggest, Bastimento, The Old Bank Town. The Beach is with white sand with calm waters the most of the year. Swimming a short distance to the point of Solarte island we will find an underwater wall with a great amount of fishes from different Caribbean species. After enjoying the beauties from the Ocean, our captain will pick us up from Hospital Point to take us back to Isla Colon.
